After moving from Richmond, Virginia 5 years ago, JT began working as a USTA high performance coach at Lifetime Tennis Academy in Norcross. As one of the top developmental coaches in the south, he has been chosen many times to represent himself at USTA Regional and National camps. Working with the full-time academy junior program, JT also developed a strong 12 & under program for the club that has become extremely successful. His passion is player development from an on & off court perspective and his specialties include footwork and balance training, technical stroke adjustments and strategic pattern play.
JT has worked with all levels of players ranging from high performance red ball kids to WTA ranked women and men with ATP points. His knowledge comes with a degree in Exercise Science and a focus on Biomechanics and Physiology, from Frostburg State University in Maryland. This helps him provide more insight on stroke efficiency and injury prevention.
As a junior, JT spent his time training in Virginia and his summers were spent at Nick Bolleteri’s tennis academy, which is now known as IMG. As a junior player, he had the abilities to compete at 10k, 25k and open-level money tournaments. He jokes that his career high earnings urged him to start coaching.
JT still spars with high level juniors at the Division 1 level and plays Alta AA-1 and USTA 5.0+ matches. When he’s not on the court, JT enjoys spending his time with his wife, Lyndsay, and their two young children, Shane and McKenna. They currently live in Suwanee.
